MONAS 10 Tablet contains Montelukast Sodium as its active ingredient. It is primarily used for:
- Prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma.
- Acute prevention of Exercise-Induced Bronchoconstriction (EIB).
- Relief of symptoms of Allergic Rhinitis
1 (AR), both seasonal and perennial.2

- Hallucinations
- Memory problems
- Unusual dreams
- Sleepwalking
- Stuttering
- Tremors
- Palpitations (fast or irregular heartbeat)
- Symptoms of Churg-Strauss syndrome (flu-like illness, pins and needles or numbness of arms or legs, worsening of asthma symptoms, rash)
- Liver problems (yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, fatigue)
Important Considerations:
- Neuropsychiatric Events: Montelukast has been associated with neuropsychiatric events, including changes in behavior, mood, and suicidal thoughts. Patients and caregivers should be vigilant for these changes and report them to a healthcare professional immediately. The FDA has issued a Boxed Warning about this risk.
- Not for Acute Asthma Attacks: MONAS 10 is not a rescue medication for acute asthma attacks. A fast-acting inhaler should be used for immediate relief.
- Aspirin Sensitivity: Patients with known aspirin sensitivity should continue to avoid aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents while
3 taking MONAS 10. - Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: You should inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking MONAS 10.
- Drug Interactions: MONAS 10 can interact with other medications. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you are currently taking.
